May 24, 2017

Ariana Dowse, Upper Fifth pupil at Bede’s School, became the first Bede’s School Lady cricketer to represent Sussex Ladies senior team for 6 years, all whilst undertaking her GCSEs!

Ariana made her debut for Sussex v Nottingham as an opening batsman on Sunday 30 April, followed by games against Warwickshire on Monday 1 May and Kent on 14 May as batsman/wicket keeper.

Ariana was the youngest member of the team, playing against several England Women Academy players.

Director of Cricket at Bede’s Alan Wells said: “Ariana will undoubtedly learn a lot from her team mate, Sarah Jane Taylor who is one of the top International cricketers in the world.  This is an amazing achievement for someone so young, and I’m sure this will help Ariana to fulfil her dream of one day playing for England.”
