Pupils and staff at Bede’s School in Upper Dicker have been delighted by the start of a series of lunchtime recitals.
Bede’s Director of Music, Louise Morris explained: “These 15 minute recitals are a wonderful opportunity for pupils and staff alike, to relax and enjoy the talented musicians at Bede’s, as well as give the performers a chance to hone their art.”
The recital on Thursday 23 March, saw First Year pupil Evan Nayler perform an exceptionally assured rendition on the piano of ‘Minuet and Trio from Piano Sonata, Op 22, by Beethoven. Vocalist Imogen Lock, who performed her GCSE music piece ‘How Should I Your True Love Know?’ by Quilter to the spell bound audience, followed Evan.
Lower Sixth cellist Ruby Moody dazzled us with ‘Romanze’ by Faure, with the concert ending with School Prefect, Emile Epifanoff performing with astonishing flair ‘Nocturne in E flat, Op 9 No 2’ by Chopin.
Students and staff alike eagerly await the next recital when the school returns in April.
