Bede’s Prep Pupils through to the Quiz Club Semi-Finals

February 21, 2018

Two teams of Bede’s Prep pupils from Years 3 to 6 won first and second place in the Sussex Area Heat of the Quiz Club’s National General Knowledge Quiz, taking them through to the semi-finals which will be held later this year.

The quiz, which is part of the School’s Curriculum Enhancement programme, featured eight teams from prep schools across the local area. The children were required to work strategically as a team and think both logically and at times ‘outside the box’.

The questions were largely unrelated to any subject syllabus and covered almost every area of general knowledge. Topics stretched throughout history, from William the Conqueror to the international political leaders of today, and covered a geographical area from the local environment, across the globe and into space.

Mrs Morgan, Teacher of Science at Bede’s Prep, said: “It was an extremely close competition with the lead changing hands several times. The teams were absolutely fantastic and held their nerve brilliantly, whilst the teachers held their breaths in anticipation. Huge congratulations to all who participated.”
