Bede’s pupil Rosa organises charity concert for UnicefFebruary 10, 2017
Bede’s pupil Rosa Witts is in the process of organising a charity concert in support of UNICEF with the aim of raising funds to help children living in the war zones in Syria.
The concert is set to feature a wide array of student performers from Bede’s and has been organised purely by the strength of will and steely determination of Ms Witts, who is presently in the Lower Sixth.
Rosa said of the enterprise, “I am passionate about doing something positive to raise much needed funds for UNCIEF’s worthy cause after seeing the terrible events on the television last year.”
The one-off concert will take place on Tuesday 7 February at the Hailsham Pavilion at 7pm. Tickets cost £12 and are available directly from the Hailsham Pavilion website or can be booked by telephone via the Pavilion Box Office on 01323 841 414.
“I do hope people will choose to join us for a heartfelt evening of music and song, performed by students and professionals from Bede’s,” Rosa added. “We have all been working hard around lessons and after school to prepare an uplifting programme, and it would be wonderful to see a packed house.”
Bede’s Director of Music Louise Morris said “We are immensely proud of Rosa, both as the very talented musician that she is, but also in her determination to help raise both funds and awareness for those children who are living in war zones in Syria”.
