Four Upper Sixth pupils from Bede’s Senior School have been selected for a CSAD Ceramic Excellence Award. The awards – which celebrate the best in emerging ceramic talent – received applications from 23 institutions, from which 38 pupils were selected.
Bede’s pupils Harry Ambrose, Jason Pears, Jemma Preston and Tilly Johnson will have their pieces exhibited at the Cardiff School of Art and Design, Cardiff Metropolitan University, in June 2018. On the evening of the Private View (Wednesday 20 June), a panel of experts in the field of ceramics and education will award an overall winner and three recommendations across three categories.
Anthony Hammond, Head of Ceramics, said: “I am delighted that our pupils have received this well-deserved recognition for all their hard work. To have four pupils selected for a CSAD Ceramics Excellence award is a huge achievement, and we very much look forward to seeing their works exhibited in Cardiff later this year.”
