Christmas Concert at Lancing College set to support bereaved children in West Sussex

December 2, 2016

A Christmas concert event held at the historic Lancing College is set to raise money for a childhood bereavement charity in the West Sussex area.

Winston’s Wish is delighted to be holding its first Christmas Concert to celebrate its 10th year in the area.

The Christmas Concert takes place at the beautiful Lancing College and sees supporters, staff and members of the public come together to celebrate Christmas with this event. Money raised from the event will go towards Winston’s Wish, who provide bereavement support for children and their families in West Sussex.

The event, which takes place on Saturday 17th of December 2016, is limited to just 500 places, with music, poetry readings and carols all planned for the event.  Adult tickets for the event are priced at £15, with a complimentary mulled wine and mince piece served following the concert. Family tickets are available for £40, whilst discounted tickets are available for concessions (£12) and children (£7). Children under 5 are eligible for a free ticket.

The event is sponsored by Irwin Mitchell, with performances from the South Downs Choir, conducted by Westbourne House’s Music Director Alex Dichmont.

Each year, Winston’s Wish reaches more than 40,000 bereaved children and young people through an array of dedicated services. These specialist support programmes include support for those bereaved through accident, illness, homicide, suicide and military families who have been bereaved.

It launched its services in West Sussex 10 years ago and have supported a number of children in the area following the most fundamental loss they will ever face ever since. Winston’s Wish would like to welcome visitors from across the county to celebrate its 10th year in West Sussex.

Doors open at 2.30pm, with the concert held between 3pm – 4pm. They are available at or by phone on 01403 211030.
