Farlington reaching new heights

April 6, 2018

Farlington School offers a diverse range of PE opportunities for Year 11 and Sixth Form students.

Current options include table tennis, badminton, trampolining, squash and climbing.

The climbers have been honing their skills at the K2 Sports Centre in Crawley. Farlington teacher Mr Dwyer, who accompanies the climbing group, said: “The girls seem to relish the chance to take on a new sport.

“They have learned lots of climbing techniques and they are gaining more independence week by week. Having successfully mastered the basics of climbing, I hope the girls will have the confidence to try more new sports in the future.”

Megan, a Year 11 student, who has taken part in the climbing lessons this term, explained: “It has been great to venture out on a Friday afternoon to practise my climbing moves. At first, I was daunted by the heights we were reaching on the wall but it is second nature now. Our instructor at K2, Max Mason, has been brilliant – we have improved so much due to his guidance and expertise!”
