Farlington’s Mother’s Day TeaApril 5, 2017
On Friday 24th March the girls from Farlington School’s Reception and Prep 1 classes invited their mothers to a special Mother’s Day Tea in advance of Mothering Sunday.
The Prep 1 girls created cards, an ‘I Love You to Pieces’ jigsaw gift and a Mother-inspired Scrabble board. In the morning they had worked hard baking fairy cakes and chocolate fridge cake. The mothers enjoyed their tea before watching the girls perform a special Mother’s Day song – ‘My Mum’s One in a Million’.
In Reception the girls sent out personalised invitations, decorated the table and plates, made paper potted plants using their mother’s favourite colours, created named place mats, iced cupcakes and made sandwiches. The guests were greeted at the entrance and taken to their seat where they were entertained with a poem and the girls’ dinosaur stories.
It was a very special occasion – a lovely way for the girls to say thank you to their mothers.
