Farlington’s young Enterprise Team at Horsham Trade Market

December 2, 2016

Farlington School’s Lower Sixth Young Enterprise team will be setting up for business at Horsham’s trade market on Saturday 3rd December.

Their company, ‘Woven’, will be selling stylish, quality knitwear accessories at affordable prices.

The young entrepreneurs have already had success with their stand at the Farlington Christmas Fair where they generated several hundred pounds for their company.

Their beanie hats proved very popular and they have had to order more stock. They learnt from the experience and have reordered colours and products accordingly.

The girls commented: “’Woven’ sells high-quality autumn-winter knitwear. We chose this niche because of England’s typically cold weather and the rising popularity of ‘fluffy’ beanies. We knew this would be a competitive market but we wanted to take on the challenge.

“We sell quality products based on our team’s experience of how knitted goods are incredibly expensive in the UK and we believe they should be of good quality at a reasonable price. Our competitors are large chains, who rely on label status for customers to buy the product, but we can provide a more personal approach and desirable products at a tempting price. We are selling a range of knitwear including beanies with faux-fur pompoms, scarves and headbands which appeal to different audiences.”

Each year Farlington’s Lower Sixth creates a dynamic and successful business, where students are given the opportunity to develop and implement practical business skills.

This year, ‘Woven’ are already demonstrating that they have the motivation and passion to run an independent business. The girls are well on their way to success. If you are unable to visit the ‘Woven’ stand on Saturday, please email woven.knitwear@gmail.com for more information.
