St Andrew’s Prep Early Years judged ‘Outstanding’ across the board by ISI InspectorateMarch 19, 2018
St Andrew’s Prep, Eastbourne is delighted to report that it has met all standards in its recent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) Compliance Inspection and also that it has achieved ‘Outstanding’, the highest possible rating, in all five categories of the Early Years Aged (0-2) Inspection, that was part of the same process.
The rigorous two-day inspection included interviews with pupils and staff, lesson observations, parent and pupil questionnaires and an examination of pupils’ class work to allow the inspectors to assess the school’s compliance as well as the Early Years (0-2) provision of overall effectiveness, the effectiveness of leadership and management; the quality of teaching, learning and assessment; personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children.
Gareth Jones, Headmaster said, “I’m absolutely delighted for the whole staff and for our Nursery staff in particular. The wonderfully positive atmosphere they create in our Nursery and the care for each individual child’s needs has been deservedly recognised.
“Throughout our school, we aim to educate and reward each of our pupils by inspiring them with a rich, broad and balanced curriculum and co-curriculum that stimulates and excites them. Academically, we have high expectations for all pupils, from the youngest to the oldest and the most able to those with specific educational needs and I am so pleased that the inspectors noted that we actively encourage the children to take control of their learning, to work alongside others, to express themselves and to be inquisitive.”
