Windlesham House School celebrates “excellent” inspection reportMarch 27, 2017
Following the recent inspection the ISI inspectors said that the Windlesham pupils levels of achievement across a wide range of academic and other disciplines was excellent. They went onto say that the children clearly enjoy being at school and that Windlesham is a busy, purposeful school offering a strong sense of family.
The inspectors noted that in the Early Years Foundation Stage children meet or exceed their early learning goals and as they move up the school, pupils make excellent academic progress, acquiring secure work habits and study skills. In upper age groups, pupils are focused on their academic ambitions and progress is rapid. Nearly all those leaving from Year 8 gain places to senior schools with demanding entrance requirements with a substantial proportion being awarded entrance scholarships consistently.
They further noted Windlesham’s success at county, district, regional and national level sports and other activities such as music, speech and drama examinations.
All of the parents and the overwhelming majority of the pupils who responded to the questionnaire posed by the ISI, praised the range of extra-curricular activities on offer at the school as well as being pleased with their children’s academic progress.
Chair of Governors Adam Perry said “This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of the hard work and high standards of our staff and the children here at Windlesham. We all feel the inspectors have really picked up on the character and ethos of the school. We are committed to the future development of facilities at the school and this is demonstrated by the construction of the new sports centre & swimming pool”.
Mr Richard Foster, Headmaster of Windlesham House School said “I am delighted that the hard work of pupils, teachers, governors and the wider school community has been recognised by the Independent Schools Inspectorate”.

In conclusion the ISI report stated that the pupils are confident, highly articulate and gain high levels of achievement because they enjoy being members of a vibrant, happy community which is full of fun and laughter. When the pupils leave the school they are properly prepared for the responsibilities, opportunities and experiences of the next chapter in their lives.
