Winter Wonderland at Bede’sDecember 16, 2016
The first weekend in December saw Bede’s School transformed into Winter Wonderland for the School’s black tie extravaganza ‘Cabaret’.
Featuring all the classic songs of Christmas, the 120 strong Cabaret company made up of young musicians, dancers and dramatists from across all the year groups performed infront of 500 parents, governors and villagers.
Highlights of the evening included the Legat dancers performing Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker, Emile Epianoff’s piano solo of ‘The Snow is Dancing’ by Debussy, Tilly Holker’s haunting rendition of ‘In The Arms Of An Angel’ and Head of School Talisker Cornford’s stunning performance of ‘Santa Baby’.
A night to remember, of that there is no doubt, and it would be hard to imagine a better way for Bede’s and its many talented children to have kick-started the lead-up to Christmas.
Due credit must of course go to Bede’s Director of Music Louise Morris, her Deputy, Robert Scamardella, Director of Dance Lee Smikle, and Director of Drama, Karen Lewis, who enabled Bede’s pupils to showcase their many and varied talents with an extraordinary level of energy and enthusiasm.
