Young dance star lands place in London Children’s Ballet

After three rounds of auditions where she was competing with nearly 700 other talented young dancersfrom all over the country, Burgess Hill Girls pupil Phoebe Moses (pictured) is celebrating after being awarded a place in the nationally renowned London Children’s Ballet.

Thirteen-year-old Phoebe is already a ballet veteran, having begun dance classes at the age of just threeat the Drusilla Duffill Theatre School in Burgess Hill.

She is currently training for her ISTD exam board Intermediate Ballet exam and is also working towards her Grade 6 ISTD modern exam and tap exam.

Phoebe already has a host of ballet honours under her belt. She has danced with the English Youth Ballet in their productions of Swan Lake and Coppelia and has also qualified for the regional finals for All England Dance competition.

Pursuing a dance career calls for guts and dedication. Every other Sunday, Phoebe travels up to Richmondin south-west London from her Burgess Hill home to dance at Rambert Ballet School in a competitive-entry associate classical ballet and contemporary dance scheme.
