Giles Entwisle (Headmaster at Bede’s Prep School in Eastbourne), Jerry Lewis (Principal Deputy Headmaster at Bede’s Senior School in Upper Dicker), and Ben Purkiss (Deputy Headmaster at Bede’s Prep) travelled to Norway to take part in the Polar Half Marathon.
At the time of writing, the team has raised £2,880 for the Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team, far exceeding their original target of £1,500.
The Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team seeks to save lives at local landmark Beachy Head, using search, rescue and crisis intervention to reach out, offering hope to anyone who is suicidal or in distress.
Jerry Lewis says, “We have chosen to raise money for the Beachy Head Chaplaincy; mindful that during the festive season, which brings such joy to so many, there are also those for whom this a very difficult time.”
Giles Entwisle, who ran his first ever Half Marathon at the event, adds, “Thank you so much for all your support, we are overwhelmed and humbled by the generous donations of parents, staff and friends of the Bede’s community. We are delighted to support the local charity Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team and raise funds for this vital cause.”
