Lancing College is looking for its next set of scholarship recipients

Lancing College is proud to be offering a scholarship programme for entry to Years 9 and 12.

The programme enables the College to work with parents and schools to identify and foster the potential of gifted children, ensuring that they receive the best possible opportunity to develop their talent.

Scholarships are awarded every year to candidates on the basis of excellence demonstrated through the assessment process.

Awards bring with them fee remissions of between five and ten per cent; winners of these awards may also apply for additional financial help in the form of bursaries, which may be awarded based on an assessment of financial need.
Lancing College offers scholarships in the following areas:

  • Academic
  • Sports
  • Cricket
  • All-rounder (Ken Shearwood Award, Year 9 entry only)
  • Music
  • Organ (Year 12 entry only)
  • Drama
  • Art

Lancing College Scholars act as role models and ambassadors for the school and play a prominent role in their area of specialism. This may involve performing and demonstrating their talents in front of others both within and outside the school.

The College runs a specific programme for Lancing Scholars, which plays an important role in the pupils’ personal development and in expanding their thoughts on their future.

The programme includes termly lectures, workshops, trips, seminars and debates. The aim is to enhance pupils’ love of learning and encourage engaged well-read and questioning thinking, both of which are required for top university success.

In the Sixth Form the scholars aspiring to gain Oxbridge places will receive additional preparation, practice interviews and support from the teaching staff, in order to give them the best chance of succeeding in the very competitive application process.
